The Benazir Taleemi Wazaif is a smart Conditional Cash Transfer Programme helping children of active BISP Kafalat beneficiaries continue their education up to higher secondary level. It gives additional cash incentives to families who enrolled their kids in schools or colleges, aiming to discourage the dropout rate and improve retention. From what I’ve seen, this simple support keeps kids learning and in class, especially in poor areas where schooling often stops early. To make your best furture.

KEY PROCESSES:
Following are key processes of Taleemi Wazaif Programme:
- Micro Supply Capacity Assessment (MSCA)
The BISP uses data and micro supply capacity assessment (MSCA) to support effective child enrolment in public schools. With help from provincial education departments, MSCA helps identify available capacity, including infrastructural conditions and accessibility in the catchment area. It assesses both public and private schools to guide registration and enrolment activities. This supply capacity assessment ensures informed identification of schools for beneficiaries. It also supports mothers in enrolling children by aligning needs with school resources.

Eligibility criteria for enrolment of children in Benazir Taleemi Wazaif program are as under:

Who Qualifies for the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif?
Not every child automatically qualifies for this stipend. There are clear and strict rules which every family must follow. First, the child must be linked to a woman who is already a verified BISP Kafalat beneficiary. Without this connection, the child’s case will not be processed.
Second, the child must be properly enrolled in a government or recognized private school.
BISP cross-checks this information regularly with school records and visits. Any mismatch can lead to rejection. Most importantly, at least 70% attendance in the last quarter is compulsory. Many families lose the stipend simply because they don’t pay attention to attendance records or fail to submit updated reports.
How to Check Your Child’s Eligibility Status and Payment
Most arents can now check their child’s Taleemi Wazaif status the easy way, without waiting in long queues at any BISP office. Simply use the 8171 SMS service—send the mother’s CNIC (a valid 13-digit CNIC) to 8171, and the system will reply with the current stipend status: approved, pending, or blocked. If the response requires action, visit the nearest BISP Tehsil Office with your CNIC, child’s original B-Form, and meet a BISP officer. They will check the database, verify school enrolment, and confirm attendance percentage.
Common Problems That Stop or Delay the Stipend
Deserving families may face delays or paused stipend if the child’s attendance falls below 70% or due to poor attendance. Issues like an expired B-Form, invalid B-Form, or failure to update child’s details, such as changing schools, can lead to payments stop. If records in the BISP database are incomplete, accounts may go under review, or the child could be disqualified without notice. Parents must keep the mother’s BISP Kafalat account and child’s school, address, and B-Form updated, especially during annual surveys or if there’s missing data. They should regularly visit schools, check attendance, update NADRA, update BISP, and immediately report any change in the child’s school or personal information..
