Chief Minister Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme

Under the visionary Scheme launched by the Government of Punjab, 100,000 Solar Systems are being distributed free of cost to poor households across the province. This bold move is specifically aimed at families with electricity consumption between 0-200 units, ensuring the benefit reaches those who need it most. The selection process is rooted in transparent balloting, guaranteeing fairness and equity. Eligibility Criteria

  • Domestic consumers having monthly consumption of up to 200 units under following categories are eligible:
  • Up to – 50 Units (Life Line)
  • 51-100 Units (Life Line)
  • 0-100 Units (Protected)
  • 0-100 Units (Un-protected)
  • 101-200 Units (Protected)
  • 101-200 Units (Unprotected)
  • Eligibility of domestic consumers will be based on bills for the month of June 2024.
  • Consumer having sanction load up to 2 KW will be eligible.

Exclusions

  • Domestic consumers involved in electricity theft shall not be eligible.
  • Domestic consumers having defective meters shall not be eligible.
  • Domestic consumers having multiple meters at single residence shall not be eligible.
  • Domestic consumers involved in payment default(more than 3 late payments in 12 months).

Who is eligible for this scheme

Domestic consumers who meet the following criteria based on billing data for June 2024:

  • Monthly electricity consumption of 0-200 units.
  • Sanctioned load of up to 2 kW.
  • Registered on:
    • Chief Minister Punjab Solar Panel Scheme Portal
    • 8800 through SMS.

The following categories are not eligible:

Chief Minister Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme

  • Consumers with defective meters.
  • Consumers with more than 3 late payments in the last 12 months.
  • Consumers involved in electricity theft.
  • Consumers having multiple meters at the same address.
